(Extremely Belated) First Post of 2012!

I think one of the surest signs of aging is realizing how quickly time flies by. I think/say this phrase often, mostly when talking to friends, proudly (yet frighteningly) exclaiming "Remember when THIS happened TEN years ago ..." In much less severe terms, this sentiment applies to my blogging style; I'll post something I'm very proud of and then I won't "get around" to blogging again until I've realized a few weeks have come and gone. This is a habit I am trying to vow to break in 2012.

With that being said, I absolutely love the subject of this post: proclaiming my affection for über cool blog, The Rockstar Diaries (aka http://taza-and-husband.blogspot.com/). My friend Roe passed it along to me just before the holidays and I've been dutifully checking it out ever since. The blog follows the goings on of an undeniably hipster, and very sweet, couple who met as students in NYC, fell in love, got married and now live in D.C. with their adorable baby girl Eleanor and English Bulldog Kingsley.

Among other things documented; Naomi whipping up delicious treats while dressing with (in my opinion) kick-ass style and Josh, her husband, simultaneously wearing bowties and a baby bjorn. Together - even as parents - they travel, frequent all types of restaurants and events, and go to concerts (with their baby wearing noise cancelling headphones). I think it's an endearing look at a modern day young couple; living the married life, yet still retaining their youthful identities. I'm sure they have their not-so-rosy moments - as we all do - but in this instance, I prefer to relish in the happy existence this blog portrays. Major brownie points go to the artistic pictures it shares. Check out some of Naomi's looks on Refinery29.

In conclusion, if you're looking for an aesthetically pleasing glimpse into the young, married life of a creative D.C. couple, I recommend paying The Rockstar Diaries a visit.

PS - Remember LiveJournal? For some reason it popped into my head while writing this post and I'd like to share two pieces of (totally unrelated) information that LiveJournal would request of its writers:

Current Song: Nantes by Beirut
Current Mood: Hungry
